Biography

Edoardo Calvello is a Postdoctoral Researcher at ICSI. In addition, he is a NESAP for Machine Learning Postdoctoral Fellow in NERSC, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, and holds a visiting appointment in the Department of Statistics at UC Berkeley.

Dr. Calvello received his Ph.D. in Applied and Computational Mathematics from Caltech, where he was a Kortschak Scholar, and a Master of Science degree in Mathematics from Imperial College London. His research focuses on machine learning for scientific computation, including operator learning for forecasting and probabilistic inference in dynamical systems.

At ICSI, Dr. Calvello works on developing accurate, scalable methodology for high-dimensional scientific applications, such as AI-based weather forecasting, uncertainty quantification for chaotic dynamical systems, and real-time digital twins.
