Biography

Dmitriy Morozov, PhD, is a Research Affiliate and Research Mentor at ICSI. He is also a Staff Scientist in the Machine Learning and Analytics group in the Scientific Data Division of the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.

Dr. Morozov’s research focuses on computational topology and geometry as well as high-performance computing, and how the interplay between these fields helps data analysis. He has worked on parallel computation of topological descriptors as well as on extracting geometric descriptors of porous materials. He has led and contributed to a number of software projects providing tools for computational topology and high-performance computing, including Dionysus, DIY, and Reeber.

Before coming to Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in 2011, Dr. Morozov was a postdoctoral scholar in computer science and mathematics at Stanford University. He received his PhD in computer science from Duke University.
