A team of researchers led by Serge Egelman at ICSI received the Caspar Bowden Award for Outstanding Research in Privacy Enhancing Technologies for their 2018 paper, “Won’t Somebody Think of the Children?” Examining COPPA Compliance at Scale. The award was announced on July 16, 2020 during the 2020 Privacy Enhancing Technology Symposium (PETS). The paper is available to read on the PETS website.
