Professor Wolfgang Wahlster, ICSI Board of Trustees member and CEA of the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI), was awarded the Great Cross of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany. Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier presented the award to Wolfgang Wahlster on the 2nd of October 2019 during a ceremony in Berlin at Bellevue Castle. The Great Cross is the highest tribute Germany can pay to individuals for services to the nation. Wahlster was honored for his outstanding achievements in the field of AI research at DFKI and Saarland University during four decades.
