Santiago Rocha

Biography

Santiago Rocha is an Affiliated Undergraduate Researcher at ICSI, where he works with Dr. Benjamin Erichson’s Deep Learning group on diffusion models and flow matching for modeling dynamical systems.

With a background spanning ML research (LSTM trajectory forecasting, computer vision pipelines), mathematical research, and quantitative finance modeling, his technical interests include quantitative methods, machine learning, and applied mathematics.

Alongside his work at ICSI, Rocha is conducting research at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory under Dr. Marcus Noack on extending Gaussian Process Latent Variable Models to non-Euclidean manifold spaces. Previously, Rocha worked as a Data Scientist at Deloitte developing LSTM-based pipelines for orbital debris tracking, and as a Mathematical Researcher at Dartmouth College under Professor Chernov on applications of topology and knot theory to general relativity. In addition, he is a Mexican National Mathematics Olympiad Finalist.
