Biography

Mohammad Tahaei, PhD, is a Research Affiliate at ICSI and heads the Responsible AI and AI Safety R&D at eBay, where he blends creativity, technical depth, and thoughtful innovation to advance fair, transparent, and trustworthy AI systems. With a software‑engineering background and a PhD in human–AI interaction from the University of Edinburgh, Dr. Tahaei designs practical frameworks and rigorous evaluations that bridge theory and real‑world impact. At ICSI, his work leverages both technical precision and empathy—rooted in his lived experience as an immigrant—to ensure technology benefits diverse, global communities.
